Bhairav Aryal(1936–1970)was one of the first Nepali to introduce the comical style in Nepali literature. All his writings are based on the social, political, religious and cultural aspects of Nepali lifestyle. Some of his essays are still read by the students as a part of their Nepali textbook. Jay Bhudi〔http://pustakalaya.org/view.php?pid=Pustakalaya%3A2629〕 is one of them.
==Literature==
Aryal's writing career began as an editor for a Nepali newspaper "Gorkhapatra". His writings are basically comical and satirical. They point out the flaws and absurdities in the society and politics in a very satirical way. His famous essays include "Kaukuti", "Jay Bhundi", "Mahapurush ko sangat", "Itishree", "Jay Bholi" etc. "Jay Bholi" in particular has been able to influence a broad range of readers because it points out almost everyone's general habit of procrastinating. His writings are mostly in Nepali and popular among Nepali readers. Some of his essays have however been translated into English and published. "The International Frog Conference" was one of the essays translated in English and was published in Nepali Times in July 2002. Some of his books with the compilation of his satirical essays are also available in electronic formats.
He was popular as a satirist but he has also written poems in his career which also carries importance in history of Nepali literature. "Huri ko Patkar" is one of the famous poems he wrote which was also translated in English as "A Leaf in a Storm".
